Lilies

So this quarter we've adapted to certain ways of doing things as a one car family. Because it's getting colder Dj hasn't been riding his motorcycle very much because if you've never been on a motorcycle in the cold, it's pretty down right miserable. So at least once a week I get the car and then three of the days I'll get dropped off and then after work I'll walk the 15ish minutes to Michael's Craft store to hang out in there while I wait for him to make it across town to pick me up. But on Thursdays I get dropped off and when I walk out the door at work he's already there because he has lab that day and is off early. I get to see his face light up with a big smile and I hop in the car and we hug and kiss. It's a small thing, probably stupid to some, but it's really nice to see someone's face brighten with the love they have for you. Yesterday when we get home, we're talking about our day like usual and then he brings these flowers out. At that point I'm standing their with my jaw wide open because it took me completely by surprise. And he walks up to me and expresses how grateful he is for all the hard work I do for our family, that even though I've been sick lately I've still gone to work and I've had a positive attitude about it. I teared up a little and just couldn't stop hugging them and smelling the flowers. I was overcome with how sweet my husband was and just how lucky I was to have him there to support me and to love me when I need it most.
It was really cute because then he says "I'm pretty sure that one in the middle is a lily right? I know you're allergic but it smelled so good and I thought the rest was so pretty, you can just throw the lily away." It was adorable. Of course I said no, I love those lilies, not only do they remind me of my grandmother, the smell is heavenly. So after about 15 minutes my eyes won't stop watering and my nose starts to run and I hurry and take allergy medicine to try and make the effects go away. That lily is still in there. Let's see how long the poor little guy lasts until I can't take the itchy eyes and I have to take it out.
